Engineer Portal Terms
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms apply to the engineer portal at www.datacabling.app, operated by The Cabling Team Ltd (company number 16270309, 63 St. Mary Axe, London, Greater London, England, EC3A 8AA). By registering or using the portal you agree to them. Our customer terms are at https://www.thecablingteam.com/terms and our Privacy Notice explains how we use your data.
1. What the portal is for
The portal lets data-cabling engineers apply to work with us, verify their identity and professional cards, check the status of their application and, once approved, manage their credentials and view their work. Registering does not create an employment or subcontract relationship; any work is agreed separately in writing.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. We will ask for evidence and may ask again when it expires.
- You must hold, or be working towards, a current ECS or CSCS card appropriate to the work, and tell us promptly if a card is suspended, lost or expires.
- You may hold only one account and must register in your own name.
3. Accurate information
Everything you submit — identity documents, card scans, qualifications, experience, right-to-work evidence, bank and tax details — must be accurate, current and yours. Submitting a document that is forged, altered or belongs to someone else ends your application and may be reported to the issuing body or the authorities. Keep your details up to date in the portal.
4. Verification and review
We verify your phone number and e-mail address, check your identity through our verification provider and review your cards and certificates. A person at The Cabling Team makes the decision on your application; we may approve, decline or ask for more information, and we do not have to give reasons beyond what the law requires. Incomplete applications expire after 30 days.
5. Your account
Keep your sign-in details and one-time codes private and tell us at once at support@thecablingteam.com if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not upload anything unlawful, malicious or that you have no right to share.
- Do not attempt to access other people’s data, probe or overload the portal, or bypass its security.
- Do not use the portal’s contact routes (including the AI assistant) to send marketing or abuse.
7. Communications
We will contact you about your application and about work by e-mail, text message and telephone, including through our AI assistant where you have consented to automated calls. Calls may be recorded as described in the privacy notice. You can withdraw consent to automated calls at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the assistant, or e-mailing privacy@thecablingteam.com.
8. Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, provides false information, or has been inactive for a long period. You can ask us to close your account at any time; we keep what the law and our insurers require, as set out in the privacy notice.
9. Availability and liability
We aim to keep the portal available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Otherwise we are not liable for loss of profit or opportunity arising from use of the portal.
10. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version and continued use of the portal after a change means you accept it.
